Wonder Eyes Photo Program - Pucallpa - Peruvian Amazon
Approximately 6.8 billion people live on this planet Earth, and it is said the children are one third of these population. What do the children see and how do they live ?

Wonder Eyes Project(Japanese NGO) has been carrying out the non profit photo program with the children of the different countries in the world.
In 2010, at the International Year of Biodiversity, carried out the photo workshop in the Peruvian Amazon, Pucallpa, with the collaboration of USKO-AYAR, Peruvian Amazon Painting School. Pucallpa has been developing with the wood industry, and near the city, the forest area is vanishing.
At the environmental crisis in the world, an essay "A Sense of Wonder" gives us inspiration. It is the last book of Rachel Carson, the famous writer of "Silent Spring", American scientist, marine biologist, based on her experience of commune with nature, with the son of her niece.
At the workshop, children take photos freely, communing with nature, invited to the forest area, natural park and zoo, discovering a beauty and wonder. Also, using disposable camera, they took daily lives. Selecting the photos by themselves, making photo postcards with messages, the participants will exchange these cards with the Japanese children.
We hope their "wonder eyes" will inspire the future of the better world.

Approximately 6.8 billion people live on this planet Earth, and it is said the children are one third of these population. What do the children see and how do they live ?
Wonder Eyes Project has been carrying out the non profit photo program with the children of the different countries in the world, and in 2010, at the International Year of Biodiversity, in July, carried out the photo workshop in the Peruvian Amazon, with the collaboration of WWF-Peru, at the villages of Kandoshi people of the Pastaza river, near the lake Rimachi, the largest lake of the upper Amazon of Peru. The area is very rich in fish like Arapaima, one of the world's largest freshwater fish.
