WONDER EYES Photo Project 2009 CUBA
Program with the children in Cuba
What do the children see and how do they live ? Approximately 6.8 billion people live on this planet Earth, and it is said the children are one third of these population. Wonder Eyes Project(Japanese NGO) have been carrying out the non profit photo program with the children of the different countries in the world. This year 2009 in Cuba, about 140 school children of Havana participated in this program and took photos themselves. Cuba, located in the Caribbean Sea of the Central America, is an island with beautiful beach and popular for the Latin music and dance. This is 50 years of the Cuban revolution, but the life of the people is tough on the economic blockade from the United States, and the dual currency system are also growing disparities. On the other hand, Cuba is known by the high standards of the free education and medical service, and the people are cheerful. The photos taken by the children and shown at the Exhibition would inspire the eyes to the future of the world.
