At the 100 year of Brazil-Japan (Japanese immigration of 100 years), Wonder Eyes Project is developing
the exchanging photo program between the new generation in Japan and Brazil, and photo exhibition.

WONDER EYES PROJECT x WWF Japan - Russia Far East
Land of the Amur Leopard - Russian Far East through the eyes of the children
WONDER EYES PROJECT and WWF Japan, as a collaborative Project, carried out the photo program in Barabash, a village in Primorskii Region of Russian Far East in April 2008, and approximately 120 local school children, aged 7 to 17, took photos freely. The village is near the Land of Amur Leopard. They are critically endangered, and their estimated number is about 30-40 in the wild.
WONDER EYES and WWF Japan present the photos taken by these children. Their photos show you the life in the Japanese neighboring country to which it takes only 1.5 hours by air from Niigata, Japan, and about the nature close to the habitat of Amur Leopard.

*2008 April - Photo Program with the children in Russia Far East
Carried out the photo program in Barabash, Russia Far East in April 2008. Participated approximately 120 local school children, aged 7 to 16. Using digital and disposable camera, they took photos freely. Some of them already having received the postcards from the Japanese school children, as its exchange, made the photo-postcards with some message to the Japanese children.

In 2007 December, carried out the photo program at Hamochi Elementary School, the school children, taking photos around the school, made the photo postcards with a message toward to the children living in the Russia Far East.

2008 February - Exchange Program IcelandxJapan in Nagano - Kamo Elementary School
Carried out the exchange program at Kamo Elementary School with all the school children, slide&talk show and photo exhibition of Iceland. When the Winter Olympic Game was held in Nagano, this school cheered for Iceland as each school did the same for one country. The school children also studied about Iceland by themselves. A lots of comments by children, "I want to go to Iceland", "I want to learn the Icelandic language", "I wish I could play with the children of Iceland", etc.

2007 December - Exchange Program between Japan and Russia Far East in Sado.

Photo Program in *ICELAND*
Carried out Wonder Eyes Photo Program in ICELAND in three places -- Isafjodur(northwest town), Vestmannaeyjar(southern volcanic island), and Selfoss(near metropolitan area). A total of 173 children participated, shown pictures from the everyday life of Japanese school children, took photos freely their daily lives using disposable and digital camera, collaborated with the local school teachers.
*Iceland is one of the advanced country environmentally in clean energy, utilizing hydroelectric and geothermal power.

Photo Program at the Dadaab Refugee Camp in Kenya
Carried out Wonder Eyes Photo Program in the Dadaab Refugee Camp in Kenya, Africa in Jan/Feb, 2006. A total of 170 children at the Camp participated, shown pictures from the everyday life of Japanese school children, and took photos at the camp using disposable and digital camera, collaborated with Japan Association for UNHCR, UNHCR- Dadaab office, CARE, and the local teachers. Dadaab is located 500 km from Nairobi, near the border with Somalia. With 15 years of the Camp, the population of Dadaab is approximately 130,000, and its nearly 97% is somalian. Their photos were shown at the several exhibition in Tokyo around the World Refugee Day in 2006.

Presented the photos taken by the children of Mozambique who participated the Wonder Eyes Photo Program in 2004, in Zambezia, northern state, and in Inhambane, southern state. Collaborated with CCM that has been developing the TAE Project (Exchanging the arms with the utensils) and with Zavala district office, a total of 100 of elementary and junior high school children took photos freely. Almost 30 years after the independence, and more than 10 years after the conflict, the country is recovering and developing with hope. The innocent eyes of children show the peaceful living.
