@ ZOORASIA Yokohama Zoological Gardens 1175-1Kamishiranechou, Asahi-ku, Yokohama

Wonder Eyes "Photo Discovery" summer photo workshops with kids at ZOORASIA with the collaboration of ZOORASIA. It was the first time to use a digital SLR camera at Wonder Eyes Photo workshop. About 40 kids participated, learned about the Asian tropical forest with the animals and how to use the camera. Then, they took photos while deepening their understanding of the animals - Indian Elephant, prevention gibbon, Malayan tapir, and Sumatran tiger, etc. - with the explanation of the staff who showed breeding and communicating with the animals. There were special moments of photo shooting. It was an opportunity while observing the animals, take pictures, to know more about the animals and their home land.

- 2012 AUG Photo workshop "photo discovery @Zoorasia

Aug.2 & 3, 2012 @ZOORASIA, Yokohama Zoological Gardens

"Photo Discovery" summer photo workshops with kids at ZOORASIA on Aug.2 and 3, collaborated with ZOORASIA. About 60 children participated and learned the animals and their home environment with the explanation by the staff. They took photos Indian Elephant, prevention gibbon, Malayan tapir, and Sumatran tiger. It was an opportunity for them while observing the animals, take pictures, to know more about the animals an the natural environment.

August 1 - 8, 2012 Photo Exhibition KIDS EYE

During the summer music events and workshop for children at Minato Mirai Hall at Yokohama, presented photo exposition of Wonder Eyes Project. Lots of kids who visited the music events, came to open their eyes to the different world, looking at the nice photos by the children of the world.

Digital Archive of the photos by the children of the world - first decade of 21 century

10 years passed since Wonder Eyes Photo program did the first photo program with the children in 2000. This decade overlap the big change of technology from film to digital. Gathered these photos by the children, scanned from the films, a total of 1,400 sheets of negative films of the project -- in Australia, Brazil, Cuba, East Timor, Iceland, Indonesia, Mozamique, Peru, Refugee camp in Kenya, Russia, Uzbekistan, and in Japan (Ginza, Tokunoshima, Sado, Yokohama). And a total of approximately 45,000 photos together with the digital data. This is the unique document of the beginning of the 21st century through the eyes of the children.

In our photo program 2000-2010, we used mainly instant film camera(disposable camera) in the first part since 2000, and the first trial of digital camera was in the workshop in 2003 Tokyo, Ginza. Since then, using the one or the both, according to the situation.

Kids photo workshop@Natori
On Apr.29 2012, having a photo workshop with the children at Hakozuka-Sakura, temporary housing area of Natori, Miyagi Prefecture. The people living at this housing were of Yuriage fishing town, which was totally damaged by the Earthquake and Tsunami. At the workshop, children took photos freely near the the mound where the cherry blossom is in a full bloom in the shinny spring.

Organized by Nipo-Brazil Friendship, Wonder Eyes Project; Supported by Hakozuka-Sakura temporary residents' association, Canon Inc.

Also, handed to the children the heart-felt drawing messages from Brazilian children of the school of Ceara State - Escola Bom Jesus dos Navegantes - Prainha de Canto Verde.

Children gathered at Wonder Eyes photo workshop at Hakozuka-Sakura, temporary housing area of Natori, Miyagi Prefecture. The people living at this housing were of Yuriage fishing town, which was totally damaged by the Earthquake and Tsunami. At the workshop, children took photos freely near the the mound where there is shrine. It was cold, but sunny day, and they found camellia flower, shinning cloud, some animal figure statues, etc.

Thanks to the kind friendship of the overseas, the children received the message from Iceland and Brazil. Thank you for the school children and teacher Hulda from Iceland, also teacher Suraia from Brazil.

Collaboration for the book “The form of a variety of happy children - around the world” by Beatrix Schnippenkoetter, published by Shufunotomo in Japan in Japanese, presented the photos of the project of the world.

Poverty, war, hunger, harsh competition ...... While being exposed to severe reality, children are desperately living searching for each happiness. A book tells the story with the words of the children of the world.

We did photo Workshop with the students of Pitagoras in Gunma Prefecture. The school was founded for the Nikkei (Japanese descendent) Brazilian children living in Japan.

From the age 7 to 15, participated, joined the photo projection, photo taking by digital camera. Those children, walking around the school, took photos freely, including rice field, Japanese archery, dharma doll.

Nara is an ancient city, and historically related to Silk Road. In this respect, did the photo exhibition of Uzbekistan, taken by the children of Uzbekistan and photo workshop with the children in Nara, and also cultural exchange between Japan and Uzbekistan through photography.

- 2001 AUG  Photo program at the International Conference of Children @ Utsunomiya 

Organized by Earth Club Network, gathered the children from the world, more than 100 countries, at this International Conference in Utsunomiya. Each one did performance or presentation about what they can do for the Earth. Wonder Eyes Project joined and coordinated a visit with the child from East Timor for the Conference, and also did the photo program which the children took photos freely during stay in Utsunomiya.
